I started playing guitar several years ago but found I plateaued quickly. Bill has been great, he has taken my guitar to a new level. He is providing me with the missing pieces. I don't really consider him my guitar teacher, he's my music teacher.  He has a broad knowledge of music that include all genres of music old and new.

Learning to play the guitar has always been on my bucket list. To say that I got a late start is more than an understatement. My sister finally gave me lessons for my birthday and that is when I met Bill. He is not only my teacher and mentor, he has become my friend. He has shown me that you can teach an old dog new tricks. He has taught me the theory behind the instrument and music. Because of his patience, he has helped developed my desire to persevere. His playing ability is phenomenal and he has the ability to articulate these skills in a masterful way. I am fortunate to know Bill as a teacher and a friend. Bill is a great teacher.  He always has new challenges for me, each of which is intended to work on a different part of my guitar skills.  I’ve been taking lessons for five months  now and have learned so many “pro” tips it’s incredible. Learn what you want, when you want to learn it. Exceptional teachers are flexible and Bill is the best. He will provide the framework for you to reach your goals but I really appreciate how he answers every question I throw at him even if it takes us in a different direction. As a student who needs to understand the theory behind what I am learning, I take comfort in the fact that Bill knows it and more importantly can explain it to me. I tell him what I want to learn and what I want to understand and he is more than happy to help me progress. So....not just a guitar player....but a guitar genius! I believe he started very young collecting rare 45's playing Jazz and Blues. Played in Rock Bands with the coolest! Graduated from GIT in Hollywood. I can still painfully remember how I left my guitar in the corner of my bed room, picking it up once a month, playing songs with one string for 5 minutes at most, then replacing the guitar back on the stand because I felt like an idiot. That was when I was in 9th grade. Fast forward to the end of my 11th year of school, I had enough of wasting  time with my method of "learning guitar". I knew I needed lessons if I ever wanted any progress, and it was clear that self- teaching wasn't my answer. After Googling "Guitar lesson", I found Mr. O'Neil. The guy knows his stuff. You want to learn theory, learn some guitar history, or just be a guitar wielding maniac, I can not tell you enough how much I'd suggest Bill O'Neil.
